Spruce up any room with this DIY project!

First: Start by looking for pallets to use! Some stores offer them for free pickup--check local shopping centers to see where you can find your own.

Tip: Grab more than you'll actually need--some could break in the process.

Prep for installation: Strip the slats and sand them

Adhere: Thin pieces of plywood to the wall by attaching them with wood screws directly into the studs.

Place: First pallet slat at the top, in the center of the wall.

Drill: Screws into end of the slats to the wall with two to three screws. Repeat, working from the center out, staggering pieces to create a pattern you like.

Tip:  Stain the plywood behind the seams before securing a wood slat over it to disguise the gaps.
